Vakkaru Maldives has expanded its collection of overwater accommodation with the introduction of the Overwater Villa with Pool, a new villa category available for stays from 22 October 2026.
Set above the turquoise lagoon within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, the new category builds on the resort’s signature overwater experience, pairing direct lagoon access with the addition of a private pool suspended above the Indian Ocean. Designed for guests seeking greater connection with the surrounding seascape, each villa offers 165 square metres of living space complemented by a 23-square-metre private pool, creating an uninterrupted setting where indoor comfort extends naturally into the open horizon.

The new category comprises villas 211 to 245, joining Vakkaru Maldives’ existing overwater collection while introducing a new option that balances generous outdoor living with the quiet seclusion of an overwater retreat.
Alongside the launch, the resort’s existing Overwater Pool Villa category will be renamed Overwater Deluxe Pool Villa. The update reflects the distinction between the two categories, with no changes to villa features, inventory or pricing.
The Overwater Villa with Pool is now available to book, with introductory rates for stays from 22 October 2026. Rates begin from US$1,650++ during low season, US$1,950++ in shoulder season and US$4,500++ during the festive period, with current seasonal offers remaining applicable.
Located within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, Vakkaru Maldives continues to strengthen its position among the region’s leading luxury resorts. The property was awarded One MICHELIN Key in the MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection 2025, ranked No. 9 among the Best Resorts in Asia in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2026, and received both World’s Leading Private Island Resort and Indian Ocean’s Leading Resort at the World Travel Awards 2025.
