At Patina Maldives, Fari Islands, The Perpetual Journey continues to evolve through a new season of creative residencies, culinary collaborations, visiting wellness practitioners and experiences designed around discovery and connection.
Running across the coming months, the programme brings together Maldivian and international voices spanning contemporary art, gastronomy, movement and holistic practice. Rather than following a single theme, each collaboration adds another perspective to Patina’s ongoing approach to culture and wellbeing, inviting guests to engage at their own pace.
From Aishath Shuaila transforming the Fari Art Atelier into a working studio to multidisciplinary artist Shezad Dawood exploring the marine environment, Yardbird Hong Kong bringing its travelling Yakido concept to the island and a three-day Diwali celebration, the season moves fluidly between creative disciplines.
Art in the Making

From 22 September to 10 October, Maldivian artist Aishath Shuaila takes up residence at the Fari Art Atelier as part of Patina’s ongoing collaboration with Art Gallery Malé.
Rather than presenting a conventional exhibition, the Atelier becomes Shuaila’s working studio. Guests can encounter both the artist and her creative process through an open-studio format, workshops and informal exchanges.
Drawing on her background in sustainable development and affinity with nature, her vivid paintings explore the patterns, textures, flora and fauna of the Maldives.
The creative conversation continues from 18 October to 8 November with London-based multidisciplinary artist Shezad Dawood, winner of the inaugural Patina Art Residency.
Building on more than a decade of dialogue with marine biologists and environmentalists, Dawood will undertake fieldwork around the island and its marine ecology. His research will inform a new work responding to Fluid Worlds, the residency’s theme exploring the shifting boundaries between cultures, ideas and elements.
Flavours in Collaboration

October brings a different creative energy to the island as Hong Kong’s Yardbird arrives with Yakido from 6–10 October.
The travelling concept will take over Brasa for two evenings, surrounded by a wider series of collaborations across the island. ALWAYS FRIENDS BY ALWAYS JOY arrives on 8 October, while Max Levy’s MR. IKO pizza project pops up at Veli Bar. Movement sessions led by Lindsay Jang add another dimension to the week.
In November, attention turns to Diwali with three days shaped by contemporary expressions of Indian food, cocktails and music.
Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar brings the culinary identity of his London restaurant, Kanishka by Atul Kochhar, to Helios from 7–9 November. His interpretation of India’s regional cuisine will be joined by returning bartender Giancarlo Mancino, with guest shifts and cocktail experiences, while Bangalore-based producer, DJ and sound artist Sakré brings together ambient textures, electronic music and South Indian cinematic influences.
Together, the three collaborations explore Diwali through flavour, sound and gathering, giving the celebration a distinctly contemporary expression.
Wellbeing, Made Personal

Through Patina Resonance, the season also welcomes visiting practitioners whose approaches move across bodywork, thermal therapy, breathwork and holistic wellbeing.
Until 14 October, Jasmin Küster brings together Water Therapy, Chi Nei Tsang abdominal massage, fascia-focused Somatic Bodywork and specialised treatments designed around relaxation, release and greater connection with the body.
From 15 October to 15 November, Japanese wellness innovator Minako Saito introduces her Platinum Ritual Series. Combining deep-reaching warmth with therapeutic techniques, the rituals range from restorative sleep and neuro-relaxing facial treatments to women’s wellness experiences supporting hormonal balance, nervous system regulation, pelvic wellbeing and mobility.
Later in the year, Thalia Jones returns from 15 December to 15 January 2027, using guided breathwork and holistic therapies to create space for reflection and greater awareness of body and breath.
On the Pitch with FC Bayern Munich

Younger guests will have their own opportunity to learn from visiting expertise when FC Bayern Munich coach Jonas Caryot leads a five-day football camp from 25–29 October.
Created for players aged six to 17, the programme combines expert coaching with small-group sessions and focused training, giving young footballers the opportunity to develop their skills within the island setting.
From the football field to the artist’s studio, the kitchen and the treatment room, the experiences may be diverse, but each reflects the same evolving philosophy.
The Perpetual Journey is not designed around a single way of experiencing Patina Maldives. Instead, it creates opportunities to encounter something new — a different perspective, practice, flavour or idea — and decide how far to follow it.
