The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands opens its 2026 Masters of Crafts programme with a pairing that speaks as much to emotional resonance as physical presence. From 22 to 25 January, the resort welcomes singer-songwriter Madison McFerrin and movement therapist Jacy Cunningham for a week shaped by music, movement, and the natural rhythm of island life.
Set against the serene backdrop of the North Malé Atoll, Masters of Crafts is the resort’s signature cultural series, designed to bring world-class creatives into close dialogue with guests. The emphasis is not on spectacle, but on intimacy, experiences that unfold in thoughtfully chosen settings and invite participation rather than performance.
Music in Conversation with the Island

Los Angeles–based Madison McFerrin brings her genre-blending sound to the Indian Ocean, layering neo-soul, R&B, and jazz-inspired harmonies into performances that feel deliberately personal. Her residency begins with a sunset concert at the Beach Shack on 22 January, followed by a candlelit performance beneath the stars at Mystique Garden on 23 January—each moment curated to mirror the cadence of the island itself.
The programme concludes on 25 January with a Morning Coffee Session hosted at The Ritz-Carlton Estate, where the poolside deck of the four-bedroom beachfront residence becomes an intimate stage for a softer, daylight expression of her music. It is less concert, more conversation—an encounter designed to linger.
Movement as a Form of Balance

Running in parallel is the return of Jacy Cunningham, founder of The Jacy Method, whose approach to movement blends athletic conditioning with mindful breathwork. Appearing for the second time as part of the Masters of Crafts series, Cunningham leads four HIIT-based sessions, each tailored to be adaptable across fitness levels while encouraging strength, flow, and awareness.
Sessions unfold across some of the resort’s most evocative settings: Resilience and Flow, a sunrise workout on Recreation Beach; Igniting Inner Strength at Mystique Garden; Lightness and Freedom set within the greenery of Uthuru Garden; and Stability and Strength, a final class held at The Ritz-Carlton Spa. Each experience is designed to energise without overwhelming, allowing guests to reconnect with their bodies at their own pace.
A Curated Cultural Dialogue
What distinguishes Masters of Crafts is its sense of restraint. Rather than filling the calendar, the programme creates space, between performances, between sessions, and within the setting itself. Music and movement are not treated as separate disciplines, but as complementary expressions of wellbeing and creativity.
For guests, the experience offers a rare opportunity to engage closely with two masters of their craft, within an environment that values stillness as much as stimulation. It is culture without crowds, wellness without prescription, and creativity shaped by place.
At The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, Masters of Crafts continues to define a more considered approach to luxury programming, one where artistry, intention, and environment move in quiet harmony.
