This festive season, JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort turns to the pleasures of island living for Enchanted Soirée, a celebration shaped by long days on the water, festive dining, family traditions and evenings beneath the stars.
Beginning with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Wahoo Beach on 17 December, the season unfolds between familiar traditions and the natural rhythm of the Maldives. There are mornings spent discovering the Indian Ocean, afternoons following dolphins towards the horizon and evenings gathered around the table, with Christmas and New Year forming the centrepieces of the programme.
Festivities Begin by the Shore
The first glow of the season arrives at Wahoo Beach, where the Christmas tree lighting sets the island into festive motion.
From there, days can begin beneath the surface, exploring waters inhabited by nurse sharks and colourful marine life, before moving into sunset fishing trips, dolphin cruises and time spent across the lagoon.
As Christmas approaches, the programme turns increasingly celebratory. Christmas Eve brings guests together over dinner, followed by a Christmas Day centred around sunshine, food and time shared with family and friends.
New Year’s Eve provides the season’s grandest gathering, with a Gala Dinner leading into the midnight countdown before fireworks illuminate the island sky.
A Festive Journey Around the Table
Across the resort’s dining destinations, the season moves through different cuisines and experiences rather than a single festive menu.
Guests can step into the kitchens themselves through Maldivian and Sri Lankan cooking experiences and sushi-making sessions, while tastings explore Champagne and cheese, wines, gin, rum and sake.
Dining moves between the international flavours of Veyo, South American-inspired cuisine at Athiri and the Mediterranean character of Riva, giving each evening a different setting and sense of occasion.
The celebrations continue beyond New Year’s Eve, with leisurely breakfasts, floating dining experiences and evenings beneath the stars carrying the festive mood into January.
A Quieter Rhythm at Spa by JW
Between celebrations, Spa by JW creates room for slower moments. Sunrise yoga begins the day with movement as the island wakes, while meditation and gentle wellness experiences offer a quieter counterpoint to the festivities.

At Family by JW, the festive season takes on a more playful character.
Christmas tree decorating, festive crafts and beach games fill the calendar alongside activities inspired by the natural world around the resort. Santa’s arrival brings one of the season’s most anticipated moments, while festive discos and an island-style runway showcase give younger guests their own celebrations leading into Christmas and New Year.

As 2026 gives way to 2027, Enchanted Soirée continues into the first weeks of January, allowing the celebrations to gradually settle back into the easy pace of island life — one long meal, ocean adventure and evening beneath the stars at a time.
